CHRISTMAS

Uhuru Highway Lutheran Cathedral celebrated Christmas Eve with a joint Service English/Swahili at 05:30pm. The Christmas Story was read in both languages, mixed with Christmas Carols.

The Balint family sang some songs in Hungarian and the English Choir and the organist performed many songs.

All the liturgy, the lessons, the songs and the prayers were projected in a Power Point Presentation: When a lesson was read in English, the text in the screen was in Swahili, and vice-versa.

On Christmas Day, the same system of PPP was used in a joint Service as well.

Maryanne MMbone Vodongo was baptized that day.

– The proud parents George Kiluma Vodongo and Maureen Kawira with Maryanne.
- On New Year’s Day, another joint service was celebrated at 10:00 am. The sermon was translated in all joint Services.

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR AT OUR HOME

“Welcome = Karibuni” and “For You” was written in the Advent Wreath at the entrance of our house to welcome the visitors.

We ornamented a little “African” Christmas Tree. – Some friends invited us to spend the Christmas Eve at their house, and other friends invited us for lunch on Christmas Day. Thank you, friends!

We decided to spend New Year’s Eve at our home, connected with our children through the internet. – A special internet system allowed us to see each other and to talk at the same time: Léo and Carol in Germany; Tatiana, Dickson and little Henrique + Paulo and Flávia in Brazil; and we both in Kenya. – We thank God for the miracle of the internet!

On 13th of January we celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary with God’s blessings!
